The beef between Drake and Common started when Common fired subtle shots at “singin’ ass rappers” on his track “Sweet” off his The Dreamer/The Believer album. Common was asked who the song is directed at, and he says “Whoever the shoe fits.”

I told you guys from the very beginning of this thing that it was going to have legs and most you said it’s done, and here we are 6 months later and it’s still going. A few weeks back Young Jeezy was in Miami with a bunch of Crips (CTE) and Jeezy called out Ross more or less saying “Where’s Your Favorite Rapper At?”

About 2 weeks after that Rick Ross responded to the video saying Jeezy played himself.

“I got to see the footage of him walking on South Beach, down Collins Ave…[Tim: it got a little crazy out there.] Yeah, he played himself. Former drug kingpin “Freeway” Rick Ross could face off against the rapper Rick Ross (William Leonard Roberts II) in court this summer, over the usage of the name “Rick Ross.”

Ross was sentenced to life in prison for attempting to purchase over 100 kilograms of cocaine in 1996 and served 10 years. For those of you who don’t know Mavado & Vybz Kartel are currently two of the biggest Reggae artists. Vybz Kartel is a protege of Beanie Man and Mavado is a protege of Bounty Killer, so it’s only natural that they would have issues with each other. Vybz Kartel represents the Gaza set (I’m Gaza by the way) and Movado reps Gully.

The war has been going on for a few years now but last year when I went back to Jamaica things got really heated to a point where I even had major disagreements with even close friends. Music and beef in Jamaica is completely different from beef in Hip Hop because of the environment we grow up in. When someone has a problem and a diss record comes out it’s not just words they really mean what is said and that eventually lead to violence between the Gaza and Gully people.

To a point where the actually Government has to get involved, when have you ever seen that in Hip Hop. So that’s why this Peace Treaty is such a big deal because it’s gotten this bad time and time again and it will continue but at least this time they calmed it down before things get really crazy, but trust me it won’t last that’s just the way it is in Jamrock, we’re not the murder capital of the world for nothing which is unfortunate.

Funkflex addresses the Beanie Sigel vs Jay-Z beef, says Jay-Z was wrong for not letting him sign to G-Unit but Beanie Sigel was wrong for putting out a diss record.

“Him and the licensee who licensed Roc-A-Wear went behind my back and obtained the license to the company that was licensing PRO-Keds and stopped making the State Property PRO-Keds,” Beans said on Philadelphia radio station Power 99. “It was all geared towards Roc-A-Wear.”

Dame said he did not want to address any specifics regarding Sigel, but did say he did not want any beef.

Jay-Z came to Beanie Sigel’s court hearing and was asked to take responsibility of Beanie’s whereabouts if he was lets go and Jay-Z said no. He says at powerhouse after Beanie Sigel performed with Jadakiss cops came out to make him leave the venue. Rappers look at me and say I’m soft because I run a website when the truth of the matters I grew in one of the worst cities in the world (Kingston) and have been through the legal system more times than I’d like to admit and it wasn’t cool or fun. That’s the problem is that these rappers make it seem as if it’s the life and it’s not man.

Praises to the real hustlers and those that live it, but it’s not to be glorified. What should be glorified is living that lifestyle and then being able to move on to better things. The “Come Up” is what we like to see.

She did seem to be on the brink of tears the entire time, and understandably so. Breakups are never easy, and breaking up in the public eye is even harder. Where did everything go wrong? No one has the answer to this question except the 2 of them, but one thing is certain: Joe Budden does not approve of Tahiry publicizing their breakup and Tahiry can’t understand why he has a problem with it when he says and does whatever he wants.

Kids, don’t do drugs. In a recent interview with XXLMag.com Ghostface Killah revealed why “The Sun”—the famed collaboration between him, Slick Rick and Raekwon—was not included on his third solo album, 2001’s Bulletproof Wallets.

According to Tony, the song would have been included on the disc, but Rza misplaced the record that he sampled to create the beat. “Rza got high and couldn’t find the fucking loop,” Ghost explained to XXL. “He couldn’t find where he got the sample from. That’s why it wasn’t on there.”

As die-hard Wu-Tang fans already know, “The Sun” wasn’t the only track that didn’t make Bulletproof’s final cut. “The Watch”—another classic Starks song that listeners were only able to hear on underground mixtapes—wasn’t added to track listing because Barry White didn’t approve the sampling of his, “I’m Gonna Love You Just A Little More Baby.” In addition, the original beat for “Flowers,” the collaboration between Ghost, Rae and Method Man on the album, also had to be changed due to sample clearance issues.

If everything would have gone as planned, production issues aside, the Shaolin wordsmith believes the album would have been able to stand up next to his most critically-acclaimed LP, 2000’s Supreme Clientele, as one of his best works. –Jesse Gissen

This aint the first time I done said it. Nothing has changed. I called Jay and I said can you come out on my set [during Summer Jam] and do the D.O.A song, it’ll be a big look for me and you. I embrace the song, I love the song and don’t get me wrong Jay-z is the best in the game period. I would never say anything different. At that time he said “yo I’m triple booked, I’m in Switzerland right now, I can’t do it”. Then I’m ready to go on stage after Jeezy set and they said “hold on, Jay-z is about to come out with Jeezy” and I said ” Jay-z is in switzerland”. They say “no he’s not, he’s right there” and I look to the side and there’s Jay-z. So he gets on the stage and when he gets to the part where he says “I don’t need anyone smiling at this” he pointed at me and then at the end of the song when I tried to shake his hand, he turned around, gave the mic to someone and said “good riddance”.

“He’s smart,” Ross said about Eminem not addressing him and avoiding a rhyme battle. “That’s what I’m waiting for. That’ll be a gift — a great Christmas present for me. But y’all know what I think. The vibe is not 100 percent antagonistic, however, when it comes to Ross’ thoughts on Marshall Mathers — he actually has some praise for Em’s latest verse.

“On a better note, I wanna shout out Eminem. I heard a record he did with Lil Wayne, Drake and Kanye West. Eminem, you’re smart. I understand … we all know what you doing now. You’re moving on to better things. Like I said, he might wanna do a record with me. We here. Triple Cs.”

Ross, the Carol City Cartel, Masspike Miles and the rest of his musical family are putting out their mixtape Maybach Music Part III: White Sand real soon. The title signifies that they started in the streets and are now indulging in the finer things in life. “We still on that hustle,” Ross said. “I’m hungry like a new artist. It’s a double disc of all new music as well as a DVD. It’s taking the street mixtapes to the next level.”

Triple Cs are filming the video for their first single, “Go,” with the Birdman featured in the production. The album Custom Cars and Cycles is due to drop this fall.

After reading Jeezy’s unprovoked insults in that XXL article, it seems like the guy’s pretty emotional if u ask me! Maybe he’s dealing wit some things in his career, I don’t know.  He did an interview a few months back with Elliot Wilson on rapradar.com and said the total opposite!  He was talkin bout, “Drams the homie and we may work together again, etc”.  Now I’ve never spoken on our issues because I believe grown man business is just that, and running to the media to whine is not my thing.

Most importantly, his statement about me trying to charge him $20k for a mixtape is a BOLD FACE LIE. I never charged Jeezy for nuthin’. I did 2 Slick Pulla tapes (4th Ward Day, Election Day)  for free and a Bloodraw tape (The Indictment Papers) for free. Anything Jeezy ever needed from me, I did without hesitation. He doesn’t want to deal with the real reason why he’s mad.

The tension between us actually started when I deejayed his USDA release party (FOR FREE) and I played a Gucci Mane record. He stormed out of his own party and didn’t speak to me for about 2-3 months. Me being a DJ, I was just rockin’ the crowd and giving the people what they had been requesting. I don’t get involved in that other stuff.

I could go deeper into his angry reaction to me working with Gucci but, again, I’m a stand-up guy. I’m loyal to those who are loyal to me. I’m not even thinkin bout Jeezy. Why all the tough talk to the dj who doesn’t say nothin to him but he doesn’t say nothin tough to the rappers that diss him like Pimp C?

I was shocked by his cowardly attempt to try to slander my name in the upcoming XXL article. And what’s the most shocking is to see him side with the FEDs in my arrest! Wow, since when did that become gangster?!? I’m chillin, never said nuthin’ negative about dude. Check his character…or better yet, ask those around him that he’s done dirty. Ask the folks who ain’t with him anymore, like Coach K, Twin, his former security Big Sam, or my homie Roccett…

Even though most people don’t know that I’m nice in the ring and have been training in boxing and Martial Arts for years that would just be childish and silly of me to bully this dude. When asked about the first-week sales of Deeper Than Rap, Ross’ biggest detractor in the music biz, 50 Cent, wondered if the numbers were somehow flubbed by the record company.

“I didn’t get an opportunity to hear his record, but a lot of freak SoundScan numbers come out of the Def Jam system,” 50 said with a grin.

…But even Fif didn’t agree with some of his fans that the Ross record was a flop.

“I think it can be a disappointment to the system, based on how much of an effort and money they spent marketing,” 50 explained. “But you can’t call a #1 album a ‘flop’ under any circumstances. It’s still number #1.”

While in his hometown yesterday, he elaborated on a comment he made to DJ Envy last week in New York during an interview on Envy’s satellite radio show. Ross said he was done with 50 Cent and may turn his focus to Eminem.

Speaking to MTV News, Ricky explained whether he meant competing with Slim Shady in rhyme battles or just making hit records.

“I mean, I’m a fan of Eminem,” he said. “I’m a fan first and foremost. But after defeating Curly, my confidence is at an all-time high. Maybe before I wouldn’t have challenged him, but I’m contemplating it now. The game is commending me for my victory. That’s all I wanted to do was … punish the opposition. I think I’ve done a great job and I’m gonna continue to do that.”

“I think he’s a bigger and better artist than what Curly is,” Ross said. “So if I was looking to fulfill that excitement or that rush, that’s who I have to address.”

Maybe instead of a few rounds of Rick Ross versus Eminem, we may see a Rick Ross and Eminem collaboration — the Bawse also says he wants to guest star on Em’s upcoming Relapse LP.

“I’m trying to be a part of that,” Ross said. “It’s either way. We gonna see each other one way or another.”
