5 time Grammy-winning rappers Lil’ Wayne and Kanye West have made Billboard’s Top 20 “Music Money Makers List” of 2008 with combined earnings of $100 million.

At No. 1 is Madonna with $242,176,466. Lil’ Wayne comes in at No. 12 with $57,441,334. Mary J. Blige follows behind at No. 19 with $43,472,850. Closing out the Top 20 is Kanye West with $42,552,402. (Billboard)

Tha Carter III, rapper Lil Wayne’s latest, sold almost 3 million copies last year making it the best-selling album of 2008. With total sales of 2.88 million copies, Tha Carter III’s ascension to the top of the year-end sales chart is significant primarily because it marks the first time since Nielsen Soundscan began tracking sales in 1991 that the best-selling album of a calendar year has moved less than 3 million copies. (Live Daily)

Grammy-winning rapper Lil’ Wayne’s Tha Carter III received a three spot boost moving to No. 22 with 20,200 copies. After 35 weeks in stores, Weezy’s latest project has sold 2,985,100 pieces.

Now all these 50Cent Homostans will now realize their hero is irrelevant when it comes to the music industry and money being made in this industry.

I picked this up from my peeps, who I am currently working with over at an accredited website. I would post the website but hiphopmusic would then erase this comment, I’m sure you guys have been to the site though.
Just thought I would share this with you.
