Def Jam’s Executive VP found dead at age 34
Shakir Stewart, Jay-Z’s replacement as Executive Vice President of Def Jam Records, was found dead in the bath room of his Georgia home. According to the Cobb County Police, Stewart was taken to an Atlanta hospital on Sunday November 2, 2008 after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The 34-year -old Stewart took the Executive V.P. position shortly after Jay-Z resigned in December of 2007.

Wow that is really sad. Lately it seems as the more fame and money you have the more you are attracted to these kind of things. I hate for these things to happen I feel that if you have made it that far you should enjoy and savor the glory of all the obstacles you have overcame.

This is saddening to hear and I pray that his souls rests with God. I was watching the reality show Brutha and I thought I saw him in a few shots. It does seem like there is more to the story. Sometimes we think that because they have the money and fame, they are exempt from the same trials and tribulations. You never know what’s going on with a peron’s emotional or mental state. Many blessings of peace and healing to his family and friends. Most of all, I pray that the truth is revealed.
