I think now in today’s music society, Em won’t be quite receptive to those who have conformed to whatz bein’ played on the radio. Em is a mainstream artist with an underground flow. I remember back in the days when he fucked wit’ the Rawkus record label and Mighty Mi and Eon. Those were the days. Backpackers or underground artists are so talented but will never have their time to shine or show irrelevant artists what hip-hop music is suppose to sound like or make someone feel. A lot of the youth today really can’t understand what the golden era of hip-hop was unless you’re really into music. And truth be, itz not jus’ this genre of music, but evolution has taken itz toll on today’s music. But hai, if you’re like me, my parents were very much against the music I listened to also. Remember NWA, Ice Cube, Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Masta Ace, Tupac, Naughty By Nature, the first Oukast album, Spice 1, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Diamond D, Jeru Tha Damaja, Smooth The Hustla, Nas, Dialated Peoples, The Pharcyde, E-40..etc? Those were the days and if you’ve seen 8 mile, you can hear the music that was a big influence on Em and other artists.
