man, u gotta get off 50 and G-units dick. “about time” for a new g-unit album, what the fuck are you talkin about, hip hop could do fine without this trash, sure 50 makes some club bangers but if you consider him a significant figure in the world of hip hop, then you dont know what the fuck your talkin about. stupid niggas like young buck and tony yayo are great too i suppose, right, stupid ass
Comment by videoblogger on 12 August 2007:
And who in hip hop is relevant to you?…….this should be good.
Comment by the truth on 12 August 2007:
i understand that you must mention g-unit and 50 since they are so popular, but why is he relevant, because millions of white people buy his albums, does that make him relevant? he’s outsold artists like talib kweli and mos def, and each of those artists are 100x more relevant to hip hop than curtis, and you aint gotta be a conscious rapper to be relevant, “gangsta rappers” can be very relevant, just not 50, i.e. tupac, biggie, nas….
Comment by Deese Nuts on 13 August 2007:
I understand your perspective but a perspective is no different from an opinion which is base on personal feelings. A rapper is only as relevant as the people who listen and buy there music. Talib Kweli and Mos Def are relevant to the older hip hop heads and those who appreciate hip hop with a message but the average hip hop consumer of today does understand that because they can’t relate.
Fact: more than 40 percent all music sales is allocated to white Americans, 60 percent of all music sales are spent by women. These are some of the things that determine who sells what in the music industry. It does not matter who the best rapper or who is the most conscious that does not play into the equation at all. The only thing that creates relevance is the appeal a certain artist has and 50 Cent has allot of appeal to average consumer as far as success, lifestyle and image. At the end of the day the numbers decide who is the most relevant and thats the simple truth.
Not to mention that 50 Cent is one of the few artists keeping New York alive, that by itself makes him very relevant Thanks for reading my blog.

DEESE (LOL) I AGREE WITH YOU
HE’S SALES LIKE A MUH’FUCKER
SO….IT WOULD SEEM AS IF HE’S RELEVANT
I GUESS I KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN WHEN THEY SAY THE NUMBERS DON’T LIE
Comment by remix on 13 August 2007:
hes relevant as far as sales, still no reason to jizz all over yourself at the new gay unit album tho videoblogger, str8 up white people will but whatever wack shit wack niggas put out there since most of em just dig popular music, that dont mean its good, fergie is pretty popular too, bet you cant wait for her next album too huh. p.s. black eyed peas w/o fergie>w/fergie, but they sold more records with the ho, fuckin white ppl
Comment by Msiyaz on 24 August 2007:
some say 50 Cent is not hip hop relevant, lets face it. Hip hop has revolutionalised and people don wanna be stuck up like Nas music. Nas is conscience i don hate that, but he is not reaching the audience like when he came out. All cats out there are heavy on commercials music and 50 Cent is king right now. I can’t wait for New G-Unit Music.
