G-Unit Sells a 100k First Week
Now I already made it clear that their was no buzz around this T.O.S. album and sure enough the numbers confirm that. Billboards places G-Unit’s T.O.S. album first week sales at 102,000, which would have been great for any other artist but when your 50 Cent someone that basses his whole career on having big numbers this is not a good look.
G-Unit’s sophomore set, “T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight)” (G-Unit/Interscope) debuts at No. 4 with 102,000. The crew’s 2003’s debut album, “Beg For Mercy,” started at No. 1 with 377,000.
I can already see Young Buck, The Game and Fat Joe running to the studio right now to launch some missiles at the Unit’s poor record sales. Me being a G-Unit fan I personally think the album should have been better and 50 Cent should have involved more in the promotional process of the album instead of being promoting a movie that will not be in theaters months from now.
Truth be told the Return Of The Body Snatchers and 50 Cent and Mr. Cee mixtapes were actually more enjoyable than the T.O.S album (still bumping the 50 and Mr. Cee joint). The new G-Unit has become less about the music and more about the drama. If 50 Cent wants to reclaim his thrown as the king of the charts he will have to return to that original G-Unit energy that his fans couldn’t get enough of. Without that I don’t see 50 Cent’s new album selling a million his first week.

umm well 1st off the Info at Hits Daily Double say he only sold 96k in the 1st week US sales. http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/sales/salescht.cgi
And im not a gunit fan but i am a music fan and i have heard the album and it is not good at all And the reson the album had no Buzz was Because there was no good Single on the album. I have never like 50 but even i can say that his older music is much better then the poor stuff on this album.

Perhaps you should check your facts. The reason T.O.S did so poorly is because Interscope didn’t ship enough units. An exo has already admitted that. He says they have a large storage that hasn’t been shipped. The retailers only got a few copies. It was predicted that the album would sell around 700.000, but Interscope fucked up. The album is great.

CJ you idiot, 50 has been blaming INTERSCOPE FOR EVERY G-UNIT PROBLEM. 1ST it was they’re fault (in his mind) the curtis album flopped for not promoting it. Now they “forgot” to ship 700 000 albums, c’mon! The reason evey his last two albums fell off and banks last album flopped and now this one one flopped is because they can’t write any good lyrics and people are sick of buying crap.

i havent listened to the whole album but 100k records in one week is poor. some niggas hav blamed it on interscope not shipping enuff units r about Fifty and the crew being on da same shit but i think one of the main reasons is because of Buck’s departure. im not sayin dat cuz i think Buck is something special but i just think Buck’s leaving G-Uinit rite before the album dropped had a very negative effect on the album itself. im a g unit fan and i must say i felt a bit annoyed that another member was kicked out, it says a lot about the whole unity of the crew. and i think the poor sales of this album are gonna have a negative effect on Fifty’s upcomming album but im gonna still stay true to Fif cuz he’s 4 real even if he’s beeen goin down…
