Huey feat. Juelz Santana and Bobby Valentino – PAYOW
It’s been some time since “Pop, Lock, and Drop It” established Huey as one of the hottest up and coming artists in the game. While some would see their career falter or even fail, Huey has taken the time off to get in the lab, mature, and develop into a complete artist. Young Huey is no more. In his place: a man all grown up, more mature, more, shall we say, experienced. And what better way for Huey to show off his new, mature musical direction than with “PAYOW,” a sex anthem featuring rapper Juelz Santana and RnB crooner Bobby V, which serves as the lead single off his sophomore LP, $trictly Busine$$ due out August 25 via Hitz Committee Entertainment.

The song, complete with instrumentation light enough for the summer and a beat heavy enough for any club, shows not only a maturity in Huey’s subject matter but in his lyrical ability as well. Utilizing inherent natural charm and clever wordplay, Huey speaks directly to the ladies, letting them know that if they’re looking for a good time, they need look no further – Huey has it all. Huey raps, “Speaking of PAYOW, I got something you might love / And it’s a murder weapon, wearing a white glove… I’ll light you up from just a few shots / And have you sounding like the sirens of two cops / If you don’t know about me, you’re gon’ learn right now/ 150 rounds, that sounds like that PAYOW!” With a helping hand from Juelz Santana and Bobby V, it’s safe to say by summer’s end Huey will once again be climbing the charts.
The Background:
Hailing from the 50 Block of Arlington Ave. in St. Louis, Missouri, Huey showed musical promise from an early age, first crafting beats and rhymes with a neighborhood friend. That interest developed into a talent, and, although he was often pulled away into the street life, his older brother’s guidance steered him into a fruitful relationship with music industry veteran Angela Richardson. It was during the course of that relationship that Huey released “Pop, Lock, And Drop It,” a song which blew up in St. Louis and subsequently earned him a deal with Hitz Committee/Jive Records. The song was a huge success for the St. Louis rapper, reaching number six on Billboard charts, selling over 3.5 million digital downloads and propelling the sales of his debut album, Notebook Paper, to sales of over 300,000. Now, a few short years later, Huey is back, and he brings with him a new, grown up image that is the result of the natural progression from young man to adult. Huey’s new album, $trictly Busine$$, showcases the artist’s new direction with a more mature sound and subject matter, including the album’s lead single “PAYOW” featuring Juelz Santana and Bobby V. $trictly Busine$$ will be available August 25 via Hitz Committee Entertainment.
