Jay-Z Speaks On Blueprint 3 Leaking

Whether Timbaland or his camp got their email jacked, cuz it was only his songs… The whole thing is going to leak pretty soon. [Tim Kash interrupts: Actually it happened, as the press conference was going on.] …I’ve learned to look at it as a great thing.
via MTV:
It was only a matter of time. Last week a number of tracks from Jay-Z’s upcoming The Blueprint 3 leaked online, including his collaboration with Rookie of the Year Drake on “Off That.” Now, Hov has to deal with his entire album being on the Web: The Blueprint 3 popped up on blogs this morning around the time Jay-Z appeared at a press conference announcing his 9/11 tribute concert.
“I may be the most bootlegged artist in history,” he told MTV News shortly after his album leaked. “It’s a preview. I’m excited for people to hear the album. I’m very proud of the work I’ve done, so enjoy it.”
Jay kept it cool despite his material leaking out 10 days before the official release day. The iconic MC, though, had reason to relax: He has his own indicator to let him know whether reactions to his music are good or bad.
“My pager is actually ringing right now, so people are probably calling me and telling me they pretty much like it,” he explained. “I can tell by the way my pager rings if a song is good or not. It’s really going crazy right now.”

Jay’s album being leaked is a direct response to his ever so inflated ego not wanting to take a lose. The album was going to flop and he knew it. The general public is sick of artist like himself, Beyonce, and Puff Daddy who don’t want to lay down and let new artist take center stage.
Without speculating on rather or not his album is good or bad, the fact is I’m personally just sick of seeing his face every where I click. I’m just simply not interested in anything related to Jay Z or Beyonce. I’m sick to almost death of these people. These people couldn’t possibly be in demand by the public, but instead it’s music execs and the media forcing people to see/hear from these people.

So your saying that people are stupid? Why does Jay have to move over? What does that have to do with new cats taking the center stage. That makes not sense.
Did Drake say hey Hova, chill out and let me get in the game? No he was just that good to get the attention of the generation of ADD. What public are you talking about, have you seen the comments made on this site on many others. In case you haven’t notice music execs and the mainstream media has no control over the blogs, websites, or internet for that matter in fact they hate us. Everything is organic and you can tell how well someone will do by tracking the reactions from a few of the top sites and blogs. The comm enters aren’t being influenced by the media, in most cases most of them don’t even watch TV anymore.
And there most certainly not influenced by the owners of the websites, shit most of the visitors to my site don’t even like me.
But they appreciate the community, and it’s these same communities across the web that in the end decide that Jay-Z is one of the Greatest, no one is forcing them to think that. It’s just the consensus.
If an album was going to flop how would leaking make it sell anymore that it was suppose to? that makes absolutely no sense, if an album sucks it sucks, point, blank, period.
And the new artists, Wale, Drake, Kid CuDi, Asher Roth, Cory Gunz etc are doing just fine the last time I checked.
Don’t know why I wasted so much time into responding to this, usually I don’t give a shit, especially when it’s not worth responding to. The way you just went specifically after Jay, Beyonce and Diddy makes it seem like you have a problem with black wealth.
What does Jay’s success have to do with anyone else success and at what point is someone’s success suppose to end?
Never!

My saying the album was leaked, because it was going to flop; is what Jay’s excuse for why he would have poor album sales. You get it? Why would anyone buy a record they can get for free online days before it comes out?
Jay has been in the game for how long now? There is absolutely no excuse for why his album got leaked in the first place. Then they create these situations like the public is stupid.
The reason that I bring Beyonce, Jay, and Puff to the forefront is because I’ve been seeing them more often than any other artist other than Kanye and Wayne. The reason I don’t knock Kanye or Wayne, is for one Kanye hasn’t been in the game as long as Jay, Puff, or Beyonce. With Wayne, he’s still consistantly bring HOT records to the community. When he stops delivering, then it will be time for him to sit down as well.
I’m not jealous about their wealth. They just need to let other people eat. Do you realize how much NEW and real undiscovered talent out there that can be brought to hip-hop community? You bring up those other artist, but the truth is they’re not nearly getting the type of exposure as people like Jay.
Then you bring up bloggers, but the average blogger is just some regular joe-blow who get their information from mainstream media. With at least 5 POPULAR blogs in mind, I know for a FACT that none of those people where “in the know.” Once they built up their audience and traffic, record companies and artist started reaching out to them, paying them for exposure and giving them interviews and such. So let’s keep this all the way real.
If you are a fan, then be a fan. But if you’re telling me that I’m wrong for getting sick of seeing the same people every single day in terms of music, then you’re the one mentally messed up. I’m like Obama, it’s time for a change. I’m not trying to take away anything from any of these artist. They have contributed to community, but it’s time to for them to have a seat.

Okay for 1, no one including my self is getting paid to post anything, that’s illegal without disclosure,
2. Them stepping a side won’t change the amount of exposure they would be getting, when Jay was out of the picture for almost 3 years after the black album, what new niggas took advantage? None. One has nothing to do with the other.
3. There is no way Jay-Z gets more headlines than Wayne and 50 Cent and I have the archives to prove it, they stay in the headlines all year around, the only time Jay dominates the press is when he’s doing an album run. And yes we do get interviews after we’ve stepped our game up but that has no baring on anything, that’s just coverage.
4. You would be surprised how in the know us bloggers are these days. Radio doesn’t brake records anymore we do, they get all there stuff from us, just listen to any radio station across the country, and you’ll notice they always play the record 2 to 3 days after we post them, that’s them trying to keep up, shit in many cases the artists or they manager send the music to us before they even send it to the label, even DJs get the music from us they just go through all the blogs and grab up all the MP3s and put together mixtapes, drop it a week later and call them “Exclusives. I’m looking in my Email right now at about 50 plus tracks that I got in the past 2 days that won’t make it to the site today and most likely never will.
5. If your a new artist worrying about Jay-Z taking your shine because he won’t “step aside” then your probably not gonna be successful anyway, ridiculous.
6. No the album won’t flop, it will go platinum just like all the others, it will be his eleventh #1 album in a row, which is unheard of in Hip Hop.
This is why Jay-Z is important, he’s the prototype for how far you can take Hip Hop and how long a Hip Hop artist can maintain relevance. It can mature and become more than just music from kids.
Why stop at doing something if your still good at it, did U2 step aside for Cold Play, Didi Madonna step aside for Britney Spears, Cristina Aguilera etc..? No because they set the Blueprint, no pun indented. Why should Hip Hop be any different.
So should Busta Rhymes step aside too? Because to my calculation they’ve been in it for almost the same amount of time, how about Nas he’s been in it before Pac and Big and holds the title as one of the greatest lyricists. Is he not stopping the new artist from shining by not stepping aside and giving up that tile? As long as he’s not always in the headlines I guess he get a pass huh?
FAIL!!!!!

First of all, you’re taking my comments real personal. I have no idea who you are as blogger. I only stumbled upon this blog 2 days ago while looking for something else. If you’re going to be a blogger then blog. But why are you attacking people that don’t agree with your views about a certain artist?
Your mind is obviously diluted or you are hoping that someone important may see your loyalty to Jay or someting. I have not said anything disrespectful about Jay as a person, but I shared my person opinion about him as an artist.
Look, you really need to get a grip, seriously. You are taking this way to serious. I don’t know what YOU do as an blogger, but I know what at least 5 bloggers who happen to be some of the first bloggers in the game. Two of the bloggers I went to college with. And my 1st cousin is signed to one of the artist I mention that needs to sit down record label so I know first had what goes on in terms of blogs.
Anyway, this is getting ridiculous and I don’t know why I’m falling into this trap with you. I had no intention on this being a back and forth exchange. I saw something and wanted to comment on it (which is something I never do.) I didn’t expect the owner of the blog to come and attack my opinion, repeatedly.

LMAO, calm down I don’t take anything serious that happens on this site believe it or not it’s one of my least important sites I work on. You said something that didn’t make sense that’s all, that Jay-Z is affecting the new cats, it would have been fine if you would have just said your tired of seeing the nigga instead adding extra things that don’t add up.
So Jay can see my loyalty? Your not serious right? You couldn’t be saying something like that. Why would Jay care if I’m being loyal? LMAO. He probably doesn’t know that this site exists and if he did he would hate it for leaking almost his entire album.
You’ve completely gone somewhere else with the topic, You started with something that blamed Jay-Z for not letting the new cats shine and now I don’t even know where you are going. I simply started a discussion to understand why you said it, it has nothing to do with me being a fan of Jay-Z, the same Jay-Z I bashed for something else a couple updates back.
If you don’t want anyone to respond to you don’t make a comment.
Man I know better than to start a discussion with a commenter. Ok that’s it back to not giving a shit, sorry I’ll get a grip now…..What!…LMAO
Out of the 20,000 plus people that visit this site everyday I just had to respond to the one that thinks I’m attacking him, just my luck. Not a another word out of me, that’s it I quit.
Ultimate comment FAIL!!!!!!

@Nik: “let new artist take center stage”, come on, you don’t LET artists…, they got 2 damn well TAKE it. You are the best until someone gets better than you. If Jay is still at the top that means that there’s noone to take to from him and that he’s the best.PERIOD.
