All the real fans, rappers and, Mc’s know that METH is way beyond a ‘Joe Buddens’. Come on son, Joey is wildin’. Meth got classic work homie. Songs w/ODB, GZA, Wu-tang forever was dope as sh–.. First of all anybody who LISTENS to music and doesnt just HEAR it know that aint no way in hell Joey is betta than Meth. People will be reciting the lyrics of “Your All I Need” Ft Mary J til hip hop aint hip hop, but nobody will be screamin “Pump It Up”. I Respect his hustle but come on!!! Mah Dude aint got no classics under his belt!!! Meth Got em For Days. I jus Listened to him and red on tony toca’s show and he spazzed on the mike!! how u gone deny sumthin like dat? Joey need to get back to jersey and pull out sum of them old school track and study them shits cause right now he failing da test. Cats really need to listen to what Joe said. From what I heard, Joe wasnt talking about record sales or achievements over the last ten years. He was talking lyrically. The point was made for right now, in 09 not 99, and lyrically, that he is better then Methodman. Methodman will always have his mark in Hip Hop and no one will ever touch that. All over the internet cats are using achievements or what they did in the 90s or their mainstream success to judge the outcome,from true Hip Hop students to cats who just listen to the radio.But in 2009, as two cats spitting 32 bars on the same track, today, with you listen to bars and not know a thing about what they did in their lives, Joe Budden will cut Methodmans head off. LYRICALLY… as a lyricist.

I agree totally with Shane Black. In 2009 there is no way LYRICALLY that Method Man can stand toe to toe, line for line with Joe Budden. This isn’t the early 90s when Method was able to HAVE classics because that era of hip hop accepted the type of music that both of them do, but in 2009, the only person that was still getting CHECKED for was Joe Budden between the two.
I’ve been a Method Man fan for all of 16 years now, but in 2009, if you strip Method Man of who Method Man is and just sit both Joey and Meth up against each other, there is NO way that Meth wins, so go ahead and quote all of the Wu lines with the one syllable rhyme schemes from Meth, but at the end of the day, lyrically, Meth isn’t better than Joe Budden STRAIGHT UP LINE FOR LINE LYRICALLY.

I would love Meth & Joey spit sum shit at eachother, but lyrically i think Joe has the advantage, we are not talking about the best artist or the most popular, Joe Budden is a great lyracist and would defeat Meth in 9/10 lines he spits.

Method Man is a great rapper. He is a part of one of the greatest machines to grace hip hop, that being Wu tang clan, but joe budden has made some classics. Take a listen to “10 minutes” or “sleepwalking”. At this point joe would get him.period.
