Kanye Sells 443k, While, “Theater Of The Mind,” Sells 212k

Of course Knaye sales this time around would be allot lower than “Graduation”, what with the poor economy, no “50 Cent vs Kanye West” hype, not to mention the his auto-tune induced, 808’s which are really 909’s singer/rap album is a complete three sixty from his previous work which may have thrown his fans off a little. None this less 443k is not a failure by any standard especially given our economic current slump.

Ludacris on the other hand sold half of what Kanye did in his first week even though from a Hip Hop stand point, Luda clearly has a better rap album. This could be a result of him not having a super hit record even though “One More Drink” is currently climbing the charts. None the less 212k is not a failure and if you heard his album you would know he still has a few tracks that could be big singles. He’s only on his second single so far.

So who’s album are you guys feeling more….

  2. I have both albums and I like them almost equally, giving the edge to kanye. I’ve always been a fan and he kills it on multiple tracks. Luda did really well and its probs his best album yet.

  5. I honestly aint heard nothing I liked yet on both their albums to make me buy it.. and kayne’s sone see you in my nightmare sounds like love lockdown to me.. it just seems like a real repetitive album.. I have heard them both im not saying their wack, but ludas is more of the same ol’ and kaynes is like what timberland did to bubba sparx and that missy beat… most of the tracks sound the same and the autotune shit gets annoying after the 3rd or 4th song..

  7. Luda’s album is the better “Rap” album because he actually raps on every song. There are several fantastic songs on it like Last of a Dying Breed and I do it for Hip Hop. The Kanye CD however will be one I remember because It wasn’t a rap album, but it was by a rap artist. At this stage in Kanye West’s career, 808’s and Heartbreak was the right choice because not only is the music deep, but it pushes the borders of popular music and was a reflection of himself and his life as opposed to a shot at other rappers of a self proclaimed monopoly of fans. Kanye is rich enough that he doesnt need to sell another Graduation scale album and is making music to make music which in my opinion, shows through on his album.

  8. 808’s and Heartbreak is a shitty album, even for a Pop album, dude cannot hold a tune to save his life; even if he has autontune helping his ass. Kanye trying to sell records and these white people are eating it up. Fucking sad, Luda deserves those numbers.

  9. 808s and heartbreaks is by far kanyes poorest album. He needs to put dovvn that tpain vocalizer, and stop trying to be so artsy. He’s starting to stray from his image. I can listen to it but it’s not shit compared to his prior albums. Ludacris “theatre of the mind” is also HIS poorest album of all time. Not to say both albums suck, but neither is really any good. Listening to “oldies” like ludacris-roll out, or kanye- just to get by- make it easy to determine the course of the rap game.

  11. all you guys that blog here and talk shit are such haters! I give props to ludacris because his shit hot, Kanye on the other has diversed his music and came out with shit that no one would of ever guessed. Sales are based on how many fans one has, but talent is wat matters and I believe Kanye diserves his props.

  13. i never said his album was “full of talent” as u wuld say. i am just saying that Kanye has changed his shit compared to his other cd’s came out. The shit he came out with was unexpected. No one would of guessed Kanye producing something like thats. All I am saying is that anyone can use autotunes to make their music, but he showed how diverse he can be in his music, to show another side of him as an artist.

  19. Doogggggg, Ludacris blows Kanye out of the damn water! On everything they have ever done. ESPECIALLY when you’re comparing 808’s to theater of the mind. Luda’s a beast

  20. Both of these albums are not Kanye’s and Luda’s best albums by far, but Ludacris has always been a respected rapper because of his sikkest flows and the highest lyrics. But kanye on the other hand has never been a great rapper and turning to singing with the aid of of the autotune could be a good thing, and it has as more people like Rnb to Rap music in society, I am not one of these people and I have all of Ludacris’s albums and for me Ludacris wins all day every day, even though this was his worst album it still beats Kanye’s, as, for me i prefer Ludacris’s type of music, and Theater Of Mind is not a bad album for Rap music its just a terrible album by Ludacris’s standards
