Lexilex’s Review: I am… Sasha Fierce
Since November 1997, I have been a huge fan of Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child. However for the first time in this eleven year streak of Beyoncé, I am very disappointed with this album I am Sasha Fierce.
Initially when the first singles began to leak via internet, I was excited about this project. With very commercial songs such as If I were a Boy and Single Ladies, I was bamboozled into believing that this would be the better one of the collection of Beyoncé’s albums. I thought that this album would be a woman’s collector’s item. However, with this album being full of cross over tracks (such as If I were a Boy), I was left with wondering where was the real Beyoncé? This album seems more rushed and put together than the B’Day album; which I love to no end.
Although Beyoncé is known for trying to go above and beyond each time, I unfortunately was unimpressed. With songs such as Halo and Satelite I find myself wondering what the hell is she yelling about? I’m often confused if she’s saying halo or hello. With songs such as Diva, Ego, and Video Phone, it seems as if Beyoncé is simply trying too hard to find a balance between the pop, R&B, and Hip-Hop star that has been created throughout the years. This album is definitely too commercial and the crossover tactic did not work. It was very unnecessary; considering Beyoncé has been a cross over artist for some time.
If I could rate this album based on five stars, I wouldn’t even give it half a star. Out of all the material listed, only three songs on the entire album are popping: Diva, Single Ladies, and If I were a Boy. It seems as if all of the better songs that leaked to the internet were the better half of the album that was conviently dropped off to trick you into buying this mess. The album is seriously disappointing leaving long time fans demanding a refund for the album I am Garbage.

I don’t see why you guys like beyonce any way she is an okay artist but it seems as if she tries way to hard to get attention, I’m like damn you already got a fan base why in the hell do you have to dance so hard and try to damn hard when she know she really cannot sing, that is why I like Keyshia Cole she keep it real and doesn’t try so hard like Jayonce kno what I mean.

I’m not a die hard Beyonce fan because I always felt like she was a stage hog. But to be honest nobody on this earth can tell me that she can’t sing her ass off. The girl has unbeleivable vocals. Yes she dances entirely too damn hard and yes she goes overboard alot but YOU SIMPLY MADE IT UP TALKIN BOUT SHE CAN’T SING.That sounds like a hater talkin. And Keyshia Cole sure as hell can’t sing compared to B. You need yo ears checked ASAP.

DeDe I was not saying that Keyshia Cole is better than Beyonce I am simply saying that if people give her some time she will be up there with Beyonce I mean Beyonce got alot of fans but she also got alot of people that don’t care for her either I am not a huge Beyonce fan and this album went from being #1 to #4 on the Billboard album charts this week b/c people are not feeling this Sasha fierce or whatever, Beyonce in my opinion her 15 minutes are about up and I cannot wait for the day that they go ahead and retire her she is just trying so hard b/c females like Rihanna, Keyshia, Estelle, and Cassie are coming up I mean move over Beyonce you are not going to be the head BITCH forever damn!!!!

Yall haters need to check your facts before you talk seriously. Beyonce is selling better than she did with Dangerously In Love and B’Day. In 4 weeks the albums has sold 1.5 Worldwide and is set to sell 2 mil by the end of December. Single Ladies went #1 and still stands #1 as well as being a internet phenomenon. If I Were A Boy was the #1 song in the world for weeks and it went to #3 on the U.S. charts only cause Single Ladies was sitting pretty at #1. Her tour dates overseas sold out in minutes and she had to add more shows because of her demand. She will be on the forbes list again this year like she was last year ranking in 80 mil. Diva and Halo videos were just released and they are the top videos on itunes. # of her videos take up the top 5 all from this new album. Her performances are memorable and legends like Prince, Patti Labelle, Mariah, MJ, Luther Vandros, Janet, Etta James, Whiteny Houston, Stevie Wonder, Cher and of course Tina Turner have all given her praise multiple times.
Now heres the facts on other females artist Rhianna barely sold 2 mil og Good Girl gone bad in the U.S. and the album been out since 2007 its also been re-release and she damn near released every song from the album. She had great producers and writers i will give her that but her live performances are horrible and if not for her PR team making up the rumor about her sleeping with Jay-Z she would have been dropped from Def Jam because her other albums barely went platinum. She is more recognized for her style then music and because beyonce has so much hate people are trying to have her take beyonce crown. Well guess what Rhianna did rule the charts cause she had no real competition and now that beyonce is back people are totally forgetting that Rhianna has a single and video out with Justin Timberlake and so far its a flop compard to what she been doing before beyonce came out. All those other r&b chicks can barely go gold so they aren’t even worth mentioning.
Moral of the story is same shit happened with B’Day and its almost at 7 mmil worlwide, had smash hits in irreplaceble and Beautiful Liar. This album is versatile and will go oon to sell big. She again will be on top of the year end charts and haters will again be proven wrong. Oh and for those who think Keyshia can sing better than Bey needs to go on that youtube boo lol.

The review was one from a Beyonce hater. The CD was meant to cross over between pop and r&b. Sorry you are too small minded to expand your in a box thinking and reviewing.
