In Terms of Rapping Skill. I agree Pac may not be the Ultimate best rapper ever, but then again the guy could “rhyme 3 syllables with 7 syllables, with half the words” <- heard that directly from a guy that works UNIVERSAL Music who was looking for young rappers in Sydney, Australia was explaining why there is not point trying to imitate what Pac was capable of.
Pac vs Lil Wayne. Pac made almost 20 years worth of music in 4 years. He had the FBI, and Government on his ass since he was a kid because of his family background. Pac has a way of connecting with people, as he said most of his fans are white(if u dont believe me check out Tupac Ressurection). He IS rap music…Rock has John Lennon, Jimmy Hendirx and Kurt Cobain…Rap has Pac. One thing also that separated Pac was that he was smart. he could do an interview and be engaging and answer the questions and made you want to listen to him more. Tupac was one of the artists in history who sold more albums and is still going.

He does drugs and drinks all day.. he wont be living that long (Tupac quit drugs and opened his eyes).

Some people may not consider Pac to be the best lyricist.. but honestly, for those who actually took the time out to LISTEN to what he had to say; he was definitely something special and something to be cherished. He talked about things in this world that hadn’t even happened yet.
For example his song Changes.. he said “Even though it seems Heaven sent, WE AIN’T READY TO SEE A BLACK PRESIDENT.” That was in 1996.. President Obama came in 2010.. and as soon as he became president; here comes all these snake in the grasses wishing him the worst in White House.
Like the guy who said that he hoped Obama failed as president and the people out there in society who make banners calling him all types of “N” words and anything else that is negative about his race.
And plus 2pac touched down on more than just drinking and smoking and having sex. He talked about societies’ ills and the ways of the world. He was trying to let people know that if we don’t change the way that we live, the way we treat our families that this world is going to come to a very premature end.
He gave uplifting words to women in songs like “Keep Ya Head Up” and to all the mothers in the world who go out on a limb to take care of their children, despite the hard times like in “Dear Mama.” There was WAY MORE to 2pac than just drugs and the fast life; he chose to rap about that a lot because that was something he had grown accustomed to being the big time star that he was.
His words, for the most part were way more inspirational and deep than the majority of these so called rappers out now. Why do you think that 14 years after his death, people still bump his music, rock shirts with his pictures on it and buy memorabilia and talk about him like he’s still here?!

Look, there are two arguments here:
Tupac is better: He’s Tupac! It’s a sin to say ANYBODY was better than Tupac. Best of all time, living or dead. Biggie, KRS, Talib Kweli, and a few others maybe viable to be considered equal, but none greater. Jay-z, Em, etc could be considered the closest to touch that plateau, but basically any rappers who started post 2000 are garbage.
Why this argument is wrong: While not always the situation, the majority of people holding this belief are old-heads (I’m one myself), and the fact is that to them skill is less relevant than the time put in. This is why you’ll here people saying shit like Too $hort is better than T.I. It’s just damn silly.
Wayne is better: Tupac is irrelevant in this day and age. Everybody rides his dick, because its resquisite to being a rap fan, but in reality nobody is still bumping pac daily. Respecting Pac as an influence in the game is required, but saying he outdoes Wayne would be like saying Alexander the Great could take on the U.S. The guy was brilliant, but the game is different.
Why this argument is wrong: The first problem is sales aside (Demographic studies will prove that the majority of people who actually bought waynes albums are young girls or suburban white kids) assuming that wayne is even the best alive. I’d be hard pressed to even have him in the top 50 alive, and as a contender for GOAT he’d be lucky to make top 100.
Ignore wayne vs pac — Big Pun would have tore that ass up. (Wayne fans — “Who is big pun?”) The fact is before Wayne can even be ranked in a GOAT list, he needs to become a viable contender as best among contempararies… and he just isn’t. Eminem, Jay-z, T.I., Nas, Ludacris, Twista, hell even Rick Ross are ALL more skilled than Lil Wayne. I watched a lot of Pac’s documentaries and it was said that basically 90% of his songs were written in the studio right at the time of recording. I still think his flow and his lyrics are much better than Wayne’s.
Or maybe they’re just more heartfelt, but not as much thought into metaphors and whatnot. Just a big fan of Pac as a human, really haha.

lil wayne is like the brittany spears of rap… if you are for real comparing wayne to pac then you got some issues… Pac is rap/hip hop wayne is hiphop/pop. Wayne is on the same level as Justin Bieber and the Jonas brothers.. most of his hits come from remixing other artists beats and songs. First of all id like to say that Wayne and Pac and two completely different Artists. Pac is simply a poet and his music is art. Wayne is punchline rapper. regardless if his punchlines are shit or not. who is better lyrically is a stupid comparisson, lyrically how? lyrically can mean punchline (metaphor, similies) or deepness, meaning, content in the lyrics. If were sayin who had better metephors, gotta be wayne cuz pac didnt do punchlines.. But poetically, content, meaning wise pac was 100 times better. Comparing these two as a whole, Wayne is no where near Pac. Wayne has yet to make a classic album, or even scratch the surface of influence Pac brought to Rap. and realistically waynes music is for the clubs with the occasional song about something serious, Pac raps about life, stress, struggle, enemies, love, politics, hate/anger and many more. his focus is so broad while wayne is completely narrow, ur typical money hoes n clothes. Pac was also in rap at a time when rap was at its best, With biggie wutang nas jayz snoop dre mobb deep nwa big l and so many others. wayne came into rap when eminem was in hiatus, he really didnt have competion. Pac rapped in a time when the music had conscience and soul, wayne raps in a time where if the beats good your shit sells. period, end of story
