ok cleary buddy you dont know anything about the game. one, music is those guys profession its there job…do we agree here? good. so if rapping is there job and most would agree being successful at ones job would be by how much money you make and how many people appreciate your work. Well I think lil wayne has accomplished both of those pretty well, maybe to the extent of being the best at his profession at the time henc “best rapper alive” i mean you can go on and on about lyrical agruements but theres a million rappers out there that dont sell shit because they dont have what it takes or the connects to get ahead in there profession…dog eat dog world my friend so before you hate on lil wayne and say he sucks i bet most of those rappers you listed would do work with him if they havent already because hes good at what he does and thats selling records and making money…im not taking anything away from the deeper origins of hip hop and its meaning but weve come a long way from run dmc and grandmaster flash its a new game get used to it so before you try agruing at least have something better to back it up. Cmon how can you say he is lyricaly shit, now I’m not saying he is the best rapper, but often I hear his stuff and deep and thoughtful things come out his mouth that I have to take some time to think about. He is a great rapper, no a great singer because of his creativity and unique ability with his voice and mind that can not only make sense of the world but bring people to listen I can hardly call him a average joe rapper.If he was such an egotistical guy (which most singers are) he would be the best.

This is the first site I have EVER come across in my entire life where wayne gets more love than hate.. I’ve even seen some that are ALL hate and like 4 pages long lol.
I guess when I listen I just don’t hear the same thing the people who hate it hear. This is not only a smart move and ncredible way to stay fresh and relevant in the music industry, but a good idea. Music is evolving and things can come back from before and get mixed up with other things a bit and bam, a whole new sound is created.
Definitely a nice beat and wayne flows nicely over it, but yes his voice is too raspy at times. And that’s even with auto tune lol, so without it i doubt he would even be singing.
Overall just a good way to make an even bigger success out of his next rap record, let the carter 3 get older than it already is.

Now, while I agree that Lil Wayne isn’t and won’t ever be real rock let me stop you right there. Hardcore isn’t considered real rock…well it depends on what bands you throw in that category let’s say Slipknot for example. I like them, but they aren’t considered real rock more of a Nu-Metal/Hardcore genre. Emo WILL NEVER EVER BE CONSIDERED true truck it actually sucks really fucking bad. Screamo is Emo’s bastered cousin in many ways and most do not consider it real rock either. For you to post those genres as examples shows all of us who actually listen to genres outside of Hip-hop that you don’t know shit about real or true rock, so if you’re going to talk shit about this song at least post some genres that are considered “real rock” you know like thrash, heavy, punk, or alternative.
Didn’t wanna have to do it to you…scratch that, you did it to yourself by acting like you knew what you were talking to. The few nu-metal bands that are good are KillSwitch Engage, Slipknot, Mudvayne, and Bullet For My Valentine has one good song. and for Rap/Rock Linkin Park.

Im my opinion I like this cut, it is HOTT! I like Lil Wayne as an artist and am thrilled by the fact of him going to rock. Hip Hop, R&B, and Rock all started from the Blues. People that basically had a story to tell through music some did it by flowing/rapping, while some stuck to singing the blues that is where R&B came into play and some chose the head banging scream at the top of my lungs to get my point across type of thing either way, I respect all music if it sounds good has a meaning and it worth playing I’ll play it. I play the Violin myself, I love hearing actual instruments being played instead of all that mixed added crap, but I still listen to it, with all the being said Lil Wayne do your thing if this is something you always wanted to do then do it I am not hating on you.

lil wayne should stick to his original stuff and stop being a tool to the industry. i think he does a much better job being a tool to the rap industry. at least his voice fits the song. this song sounds like it was produced using loops in Propellerheads Reason 3 and even the vocal effects (which put him back on pitch, might i add) are subpar. when he did his rap stuff at least the songs were well compiled. i dont understand peoples obsession with the “beat”…its just basic rock drumming, but i digress. bad recording. bad song structure. boring chord structure. it sounds like hes rapping over a rock song. and the beat is not actually a beat but a drummer that sounds like hes been drumming for a year. this is all just my point of view so lets not get our panties in a twist. props to him for trying.

(1) he cut a bit of the vocal effects and
(2) had a heavier guitar sound.
I think that the song sounds too soft. If it had a sound more similar to, perhaps, Bullet for My Valentine or AFI, it would be so much better.
If he releases this single the way it is now, he can kiss his career goodbye. Though I must admit, I commend him for being adventurous enough to cross genres like that. I’ve never really been a big fan of Lil’ Wayne, though I do listen some of his music. If he cleans up this song (and all the others that probably sound like this on his album) then this album might be regarded as a nice album, allowing him to come off as a versatile musician.
