A year later Beanie Sigel finally comes to to the conclusion that he no longer has any quarrel with the big homie Jay-Z, pretty much saying that without Jay-Z he wouldn’t have the platform that he has now to diss Hova.

Sigel told XXL:

“What Mike Epps say? ‘Gangstas fuck up too,’” Sigel exclusively told XXLMag.com over the phone, while in his native Philadelphia today (May 31). “Whatever I felt this dude Jay did wrong to me, it can’t outweigh the one thing he did do for me – he gave me an opportunity. Dude gave me an opportunity. A lot of people don’t get opportunities. He gave me that. That outweighs everything. I need that in black and white. I got caught in the moment and put my feelings out there. I should have never done that.”

You might want to think things through before you act next time Beans, now this is forever indexed in the Hip Hop beef archives. He also told XXL that he has a album worth of material going at Jay-Z and speaking on the problems that went down at Roc-A-Fella, but he says he wouldn’t feel right putting them out. We all know how that goes, those tracks will all leak sooner or later whether Sigel wants them to or not.

Here’s 2 new joints from Travis Barker’s new album Barker’s Give The Drummer Some, in stores 3/15. The first one is called ”Devil’s Got A Hold Of Me” featuring Slaughterhouse and the second one is called “Just Chill” featuring Beanie Sigel, Bun B & Kobe. Angela Yee premiered this track this morning on her Shade45 show The Morning After, Freeway touches on the Jay-Z vs Beanie Sigel issue and also says the full story is coming on his album in February. Kinda sad to see the Roc crumble this way, so much for waiting for them to come back.

J. Cole talks to Nick Huff of Hard Knock TV about his thoughts on the Jay-Z & Beanie Sigel situation, being compared to Drake on MuchMusic TV in Toronto, and what impact mixtapes have in an artists career.

“It’s nothing you can do about those comparisons… I know it comes from a place where people don’t really know. It’s one of those things where they think “this guy reminds me of XYZ” because that’s the hot guy that’s on their mind right now. I remember a couple of years ago, people was saying Lupe cuz that’s who they was hearing about.

Once people get into the music, it’s like “oh wait, no he’s not.” But like I always say, he’s talented so it’s not a diss really. It’s all good. But the Toronto joint was crazy, ha. Funkflex addresses the Beanie Sigel vs Jay-Z beef, says Jay-Z was wrong for not letting him sign to G-Unit but Beanie Sigel was wrong for putting out a diss record.

Not so fast. After Beanie Sigel and 50 Cent sat down for a joint interview with Philadelphia radio station Power 99 earlier this week, the streets thought Sigs signing with G-Unit was already a done deal. According to 50, they did talk about it, but still have a long way to go.

“I had a meeting with him today,” 50 said Thursday. “First we gotta start with the music — where’s the music? Then we have to get into what it would take to bring him over to G-Unit as a record company. You can’t sign a deal in a conversation — it’s a process. We’ll see what happens.”

Fif did note that he thinks Beanie is capable lyrically and looks forward to hearing what he has in his vaults. “I would listen to what he has,” Fif explained. “His skills haven’t diminished. Nine times out of 10, he’ll have something workable already on deck. When you’re dealing with artists who have been established longer than you, it’s a process. You have to figure out exactly where they are at before you commit to being a part of those projects, because they have habits and they’ve been conditioned for something different. You have to figure out exactly what that is before you dive in.”

The Broad Street Bully isn’t the only established MC Fif is thinking about extending an invitation to. “I got artists who I’m looking at,” he said. “A few of them aren’t actively available for me to do different things with them. But I’m looking to sign new artists into the actual company.”

“Him and the licensee who licensed Roc-A-Wear went behind my back and obtained the license to the company that was licensing PRO-Keds and stopped making the State Property PRO-Keds,” Beans said on Philadelphia radio station Power 99. “It was all geared towards Roc-A-Wear.”

Dame said he did not want to address any specifics regarding Sigel, but did say he did not want any beef.

“I love Jay, I love Beans — what’s the reason for beef?” Dash responded. “That’s stupid. What’s the reason for beef? People die, people don’t feel good — I want people to laugh. What’s up, y’all?”

Dame was shocked to hear Beanie on the radio.

“I was surprised. I was hurt for him, more or less, because I know that ain’t him,” Dash said. “But I don’t want to speak on that. Whatever [Beanie's] going through where he’s got to do that … I could understand where he may look at things and feel that way. I can see that. He’s probably got a lot of people around him and nobody to really tell him what’s going on. It was a different environment for Roc-A-Fella back then. I feel bad for those cats. I love those cats. I hate that they struggle. I hate it. I hate to see anybody struggle. I don’t embrace that. I’m not one of those dudes that get happy when I hear something bad about somebody I had a bond with. I really loved those dudes. You see Ski down there, I knew Ski for 20 years. That’s my man. Sometimes people have different agendas for why they don’t wanna be my friend. But at the end of the day, I’m always there for them.”

Dame Dash just laughs off stories about how he is supposedly in dire straits financially. He gets so much of a kick out of it that he doesn’t rush to defend himself against the rumors. These days, Dame is back where he started, making music independently along with brokering art and producing television.

Dash has a complex in lower Manhattan, DD172, where he has two music studios and an art gallery, and also publishes a magazine and maintains CreativeControl.tv. Mos Def has dubbed the building the “24-7 karate school,” because of all of the artists that come through and work together. Mos, the Black Keys, Jay Electronica, Jim Jones, the RZA, Raekwon the Chef and producer Ski (Reasonable Doubt) to name a few.

Dash says everyone is welcome, just as long as no one brings negativity.

“I’m not teaching violence. No beef! None of that. I don’t have beef with nobody.”

On November 27, Dash releases the first album off of his Blak Roc label — the next LP from the Black Keys, under the name Blakroc. The album features Jim Jones, the RZA, Raekwon the Chef, Mos Def, Q-Tip, Billy Danze and Pharoahe Monch.

[7:10-7:40] Beans was the better artist out of the actual crew, the stronger artist. That’s why when he did the year and a day, I was like “as soon as he comes home, I’m bringing that project over here.” He would of got at least $800,000. Jay was telling him he didn’t want to lose him.

Jay & Puffy had these feelings towards me at one point. They didn’t want to lose anything to me… It was like “I’m losing something, to him?”

[8:35-9:10] I think that he does a great job at manipulating the system. When he had the Def Jam building, Nas got like $2 million dollars. Jay got a $15 million dollar marketing plan. He was like “This is for you. This is for me. This is for you. 1, 2, this is for me. This is for you. 1, 2, 3, this is for me.” Until his whole marketing plan is the real one. You know that “Wave, wave, wave.” [Show What Me What You Got] That was the wrong record. If you got $15 million in marketing, you can make the wrong record feel like right record.

Do you guys even know anything about the secret society? Shit is crazy you better look it up, I’ve heard things about Jay-Z being affiliated with it but nothing solid. 50 Cent impressed me with the “Glasses, None Confrontational Vibe” thing, I didn’t expect him to pick that up that’s the type of things you learn in psychology, that boy must be reading some books because he wasnt’t this sharp coming in.

In anticipation of a new State Property album, Undrcrwn has linked with Philly favorites Beanie Sigel and Freeway (both of whom put out solid solos last fall). Tees featuring caricatures and prints of the artwork will soon be available. Free comes draped in Phillies style gear, while the Broad Street Bully is decked out in Flyers orange and black. Everything is full of brotherly love. Great connection between local entities.

Authorities said Sigel, whose real name is Dwight Grant, gave a false urine sample to probation officials on Feb. 29 and also tested positive five times earlier this month for controlled substances, including Xanax and Percocet.U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick sentenced Sigel, 34, to three months in prison and one additional year of supervised release, which he is to continue in a drug-treatment program.
