Over the weekend, Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated in the birth of their first child, Blue Ivy Carter. Just a day after, Jay-Z took it to the booth to share his feelings on the situation, calling this the most amazing feeling in the world. He even gives her her first feature credit!

We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.

Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven. She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives.

We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.

Rick Ross lays a verse down for Rihanna’s “Talk That Talk” single featuring  Jay-Z, should have just had it like this from the jump.

Hova has become the hip hop artist with the most Billboard Top 10 hits with his Kanye West-assisted smash “Niggas In Paris” jumping to the number eight spot on the charts. The song jumped seven spots in one week. It gives Jay his 18th Top Ten single on the Billboard Hot 100 single, surpassing Ludacris and Lil Wayne.

That gives Jay and Kanye’s Watch the Throne album its first Hot 100 top 10 after “H*A*M” reached No. 29 and “Otis,” featuring the late soul legend Otis Redding, rose to No. 12; and, “Who Gon Stop Me” peaked at No. 44.

Watch The Throne has sold 1.1 million copies. As “Niggas In Paris” climbs. The hit gives West his 14th top 10 single.

Here’s one of the more anticipated joint off Jeezy’s new album Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition. I’ts titled “I Do” and features Jay-Z & Andre 3000. A feature from Andre is like a UFO sighting, you have to take pictures because you never know when it’s going to happen again, check it out.

Here is the full version of Rihanna and Jay-Z’s newest collaboration ‘Talk That Talk’ which which is the title track from her new album due out November 21.

Fans may be disappointed to hear that Drake and Lil Wayne have decided to scrap their highly anticipated collaboration album. Their reason for scraping the deal, as Drake explained to XXL, was because they felt fans would compare it to Watch the Throne, and not take it for it’s own artistic merit.

“Me and Wayne scrapped the idea of a collaboration album. We just agreed that it would be looked upon as…It would be sort of this competition [with Watch The Throne]. I feel like it would get caught in this whirlwind of hype. [Wayne] agreed. We just said, ‘If we do it, we’ll do it down the line. But right now is not the time.’”

Smart move, because that “Watch The Throne” album turned out to be something quite special; and if they were to put out something this close to that album’s release and it didn’t deliver, they would never hear the end of it.

After the “H.A.M.” single dropped a few months ago, things went dark for “Watch The Throne” with no real follow up information about the collaboration album from Kanye West & Jay-Z. Now the project finally gets a release date: August 2nd, you can already pre-order the album at WatchTheThrone.com.

Who’s looking forward to this project?

Yesterday was the 15th Anniversary (Yesterday) of the release of Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt. In honor of the occasion Philly Radio OG Colby Colb has released a rare, mostly never heard interview and freestyle from 1995.

What can I say, this is a historic moment in Hip Hop. At the time I knew of Jay-z from Original Flavor and he had a cameo on this Big Daddy Kane song that was out that summer.

This was before Rocafella, this was best friends Jay and Dame driving down to Philly in twin Lexus GS Coupes with records in the trunk. This was one of Jay-z first interviews outside of New York. You could see the potential in him, he was nervous yet confident. During this interview he talks about life before Reasonable Doubt which didn’t come out until 10 months later. Check out the freestyle over some Wu beats.

It’s crazy hearing a unpolished young and enthusiastic Jay-Z talk about is plans for the future and his minor accomplishments at the time. He was super excited about the video he shot for the “In My Lifetime (Remix)” and the album that would later the classic and legendary Reasonable Doubt. Then he stumbles a couple times through a freestyle over the “Criminology” and “Method Man” beat. Who’d would that guy would become the Jay-Z he is today.

Rapper/entrepreneur Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter continues to expand his $450 million empire with the announcement his Roc Nation, www.rocnation.com, will acquire German-American netlabel Block Starz Music LLC, www.blockstarmusic.com, in a move that has taken industry insiders by surprise.

Mr. Carter, who sold his Rocawear clothing label for $204 million in 2007, signed 10-year $150 million Live Nation deal in 2008 and holds stakes in the New Jersey Nets, 40/40 Club chain, ad firm Translation and various other businesses, reportedly won a bidding war between Universal and Jive Records for the fledgling Block Starz imprint.

While terms of the deal had not been disclosed at press time, the purchase of Block Starz, a full service online music company founded in 2008 to scout, develop, and market new independent talent, culminates a busy month for Jay-Z.

Earlier it was announced that Roc Nation had signed deejay/producer Mick Boogie, singer and songwriter/producer Santi “Santigold” White to its management division. It is unclear in what capacity Block Starz Music will operate under the new business arrangement, but experts speculate it will involve A&R and talent scouting.

Representatives for Jay-Z, who Forbes recently revealed as the second “Wealthiest Artist” in Hip-Hop, were not immediately available for comment.

It’s called G.O.O.D Fridays but it always comes on Saturdays, anyway this one is a instant classic It’s Kanye West “The Joy” featuring Pete Rock, Jay-Z, Charlie Wilson, Curtis Mayfield & KiD CuDi.

This is probably the rarest thing I’ve ever had the pleasure of posting. We’ve all at some at point heard the legendary 7 minute back and forth freestyle session between L and Jigga from the February 23, 1995 episode of the The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show on WKCR. Personally I’ve heard it at least a thousand times and I pretty much know it word for word. But unless you were at the radio station that night, you most likely never heard this extended, nearly 10 minute version.

All the way back in 95 Hov was a problem, two of the best lyricist.

What do you like about hip-hop today?
M.I.A.: I think Kanye is trying to take it into a new realm and he’s sort of putting the artistry back into it and sort of taking it in that direction. I was having a conversation about Jay-Z and Nas and how it was really crazy how they were having this Nas vs. Jay-Z moment 10 years ago and no one really talks about it now.

M.I.A.: Jay became the biggest representation of rap music who’s still alive, started dating Beyoncé—everything was so much bigger and better with Jay-Z. I hope people don’t think that that wins. The fact that Nas didn’t become all this sort of stuff changes people’s perception about the music and the work he achieved in his lifetime. I don’t wanna say Jay-Z sold out, but I just feel like we have to wait another 10 years to see what happens. Jay-Z’s ambition was to become like Frank Sinatra, a household name all over the planet, and own a casino in Vegas and stuff like that. And I think Nas was really sticking to knowledge. I still think the biggest point about hip-hop is in there somewhere, what happens to those two artists.

VIBE: Judging from the response on the Internet, the one line from the song that plenty of people heard is, “Tell Hova don’t pass the crown so soon, Unless he got a crown for every writer in the room/There’s too many spirits on these ghostwritten tunes, So you can’t crown the heir until you séance the room.” Can you clarify exactly what you meant by that?

Pusha T: I actually wrote my verse [around the time] “D.O.A.” dropped. I just feel like there are a lot of new artists in the game that still have to prove themselves. You hear so much talk about who’s next and who’s up next and who’s the man and so on and so forth. In all fairness, I feel like Jay-Z is still relevant. He’s still the rapper. He’s the crown-holder right now. But, you know, he cosigns plenty of artists all the time, so I just wanted to tell him not to pass the crown too soon because we don’t know enough about these artists yet. We need to do checks on them first and see what they’re all about. Obviously, ghostwriting is a very big thing going on, too. So we gotta see who the man is behind all of these joints if that’s what’s going on.

”There’s a misunderstanding with my fanbase,” he says. ”People [at Warner] feel they know my fans more than I do. They want me to step out of my comfort zone and step into theirs. “I have a interesting take on that,” Jay-Z said Saturday at the annual “2 Kings” dinner, which was sponsored by Sprite and Bing and took place during NBA All-Star weekend. “I know everybody is gonna take this wrong: ‘We Are the World,’ I love it, and I understand the point and think it’s great. But I think ‘We Are the World’ is like [Michael Jackson's] ‘Thriller’ to me. I don’t ever wanna see it touched. I’m a fan of music. I know the plight and everything that’s going on in Haiti. I applaud the efforts: [Millions have been raised] through text [donations] to Haiti. So I appreciate the efforts and everything, but ‘We are the World’ is [musically] untouchable like ‘Thriller’ is untouchable. Some things are just untouchable. It was a valiant effort, but for me, it’s gonna be untouchable.”

It’s understandable, but the point of it was not to create a brand new song, they wanted to remake “We Are The World” to appeal to our generation and they achieved it, plus at the end of the day the song itself really doesn’t matter but what it set out and that’s to help Haiti.

I would have loved that idea better. I have tremendous respect for Quincy Jones. Of course, I think he’s genius, as everyone else does. But I think it’s time for us to make a new song, our take on it… I tried to do that with “Stranded” [the song Jay, Rihanna and U2's Bono and The Edge premiered at the 'Hope for Haiti Now' telethon.]

Nipsey Hussle mentioned to XXL that he heard Jay-Z & Eminem had gone to the recording before he got there, so it seems like they gave it a chance before turning it down.

J. Cole talks to Nick Huff of Hard Knock TV about his thoughts on the Jay-Z & Beanie Sigel situation, being compared to Drake on MuchMusic TV in Toronto, and what impact mixtapes have in an artists career.

“It’s nothing you can do about those comparisons… I know it comes from a place where people don’t really know. It’s one of those things where they think “this guy reminds me of XYZ” because that’s the hot guy that’s on their mind right now. I remember a couple of years ago, people was saying Lupe cuz that’s who they was hearing about.

Once people get into the music, it’s like “oh wait, no he’s not.” But like I always say, he’s talented so it’s not a diss really. It’s all good. But the Toronto joint was crazy, ha. She said it, I was like . She didn’t mean anything by it. [Interviewer: It's kinda funny how the blogs ran with it.] Yeah, it was a real expression… I can’t believe they caught that on-camera.”

[7:10-7:40] Beans was the better artist out of the actual crew, the stronger artist. That’s why when he did the year and a day, I was like “as soon as he comes home, I’m bringing that project over here.” He would of got at least $800,000. Jay was telling him he didn’t want to lose him.

Young Jeezy made another onstage connection with Young Hov on Saturday night, when the Snowman brought out Jay-Z during the BET Hip-Hop Awards. The following night, Young told MTV News that their performance of “As Real as It Gets” was the setup for an even bigger event, the song’s video.

“Opened up the BET Awards, me and Jay-Z,” Jeezy said on set of Triple C’s and Rick Ross’ new video for “Erryday.” “Shouts out to the homie, man, he stopped through. He was on his way to another show. But that’s what we do. Real ones do real things. I just wanted to do something big for the city. Since the song is on both of our albums, we gonna shoot the video. It’s gonna be crazy. We said, ‘Let’s go ahead and break it in at the BET Awards.’ ”

Jeezy explained that the video is going to display some of their riches. “We just gonna go dumb,” he said. “Call Rick [Ross] up, everybody. [We'll have] cars, watches, blunts, money, just go dumb. Dumm-meeee! That’s what we need to do.”

Jeezy also said he wouldn’t mind doing some more shows with Jay-Z. “I’mma keep it all the way live, homie. At this point in my career, I’m like, whatever, I do this from the heart,” Mr. 17.5 said. “Everything I do is real to me. If it’s some strings and orchestra with it, and we still talking about what we supposed to be talking about, I’m all for it.”

At the Atlanta Civic Center, Young Jeezy — who often has high-profile guests to join him onstage — pulled off a huge move during the BET Hip-Hop Awards, kicking off the show by bringing out surprise guest Jay-Z. Hov and Young opened the show with “As Real As It Gets,” with the two hip-hop heavyweights going back and forth on verses. With the audience on their feet by song’s end, Jeezy said, “Welcome to Atlanta.”

Jay later took home the MVP of the Year award, beating out such popular peers as Lil Wayne and Drake. Hov dedicated his win to Mr. Magic, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube. “Brooklyn, we did it again,” he said at the conclusion of his brief speech.

Other big winners announced during the show were Drake for Rookie of the Year and DJ AM for DJ of the Year.

Busta Rhymes stood in for the turntable great, who passed away in August. “I’m honored to accept this,” he said. Rhymes also saluted his recently deceased personal DJ, Roc Raida, and pioneer Mr. Magic who formatted his New York radio show with 100 percent hip-hop in the 1980s.

DJ Drama was the house DJ, with DJ Khaled serving as the show’s MC. Mike Epps, the show’s host, did a short stand-up routine as he cracked the mic, clowning on everyone from Lil Mama to Snoop Dogg.

During breaks, BET showed videotaped packages of their now-famous “cypher” rap sessions. DJ Premier played a beat while three sets of MCs rapped. The first set included KRS-One and Wale, while the second set showcased Joe Budden and Nicki Minaj. The rhyme of the night went to Eminem, however — his session included Black Thought and Mos Def. Em hit a rapid-fire flow that addressed everything from sex to Barack Obama.

[Flex: Is it timed perfectly, around the week of the album?] I guess so cuz I don’t buy that, there’s no way in the world he didn’t hear that. [Flex: Laughs. Were you aware he was there when he came out on the Summer Jam stage?] I didn’t know he was coming out, for one. I had no idea that was him. The first time I looked I didn’t know who it was. I really didn’t. I’m not being funny, I promise you. [Flex: I think people got in his ear after that.] Yeah. That’s what I believe happened. [Flex: So you haven't had a chance to...] What’s there to talk about. It’s not like a real beef. That’s another thing. There’s too much talking. “We squashing a fake beef?” Like we have a real problem. Then we shouldn’t be talking on the radio at all. There’s no real problem so what is there to squash. [Flex: Do you get tired of it?] I know the people get tired of it. They have to. The people just want to hear great music. If it was few, far and between, then it would be exciting. Now it’s like, “ight man, just put out some music.”

(23:50) Flex: Sometimes I look online, and I see Freeway, Peedi Crakk, and other Roc-A-Fella artists saying “Oh, Hov didn’t call me” or “Hov didn’t tell me he wasn’t doing the Roc anymore..” How do you feel when you see those things online?

It’s difficult because I’ve done so much for them… I gave everybody a shot. Everybody got a chance to sit at the table and make something. So whether you parlayed that into something or let that go away. You know, that’s pretty much on you. So if I’m not doing anything tomorrow or the next day, you should be cool with that. [Flex: Do they reach out sometimes?] Yeah, yeah. I still speak to Freeway and Chris. More than anybody else. Chris first, then Freeway. Shoutout to Freeway, he was sick the other day.
