50 Cent’s recent interview with XXL magazine, and inside he made a surprising comparison of himself and Lil Wayne.

When asked about his thoughts on Lil Wayne, 50 responds:

“He’s turning into 50 Cent.He’s going through that process of being successful, ’til people go, “You know what? Get the f*ck outta here. We don’t want you here no more.” Because you’re successful. … For me, the music is an artistic choice. I’ll say, from the very beginning, that I can care less about a critic or how someone judges me for the actual music. You see, people understand within hip-hop culture that I’m passionate about actually trying to do something different. I want to make a change in a different way. This is about me personally feeling like I wanna mean more after I’m dead, when I’m gone.”

Fans may be disappointed to hear that Drake and Lil Wayne have decided to scrap their highly anticipated collaboration album. Their reason for scraping the deal, as Drake explained to XXL, was because they felt fans would compare it to Watch the Throne, and not take it for it’s own artistic merit.

“Me and Wayne scrapped the idea of a collaboration album. We just agreed that it would be looked upon as…It would be sort of this competition [with Watch The Throne]. I feel like it would get caught in this whirlwind of hype. [Wayne] agreed. We just said, ‘If we do it, we’ll do it down the line. But right now is not the time.’”

Smart move, because that “Watch The Throne” album turned out to be something quite special; and if they were to put out something this close to that album’s release and it didn’t deliver, they would never hear the end of it.

Lil Wayne has made a little bit of Billboard Hot 100 history. The Cash Money superstar has landed eleven songs on the Hot 100 chart; tying David Cook and Taylor Swift for the most songs on the chart simultaneously by a solo artist.

MTV announced yesterday that Tha Carter IV will drop digitally at midnight following the MTV Video Music Awards this coming Sunday.

New York, NY (August 22, 2011) – In a music industry first, Hip-Hop megastar and super mogul, Lil Wayne will release his highly-anticipated album, Tha Carter IV, in its entirety online via retail sites including Itunes, Amazon and more when the clock strikes midnight following the “2011 MTV Video Music Awards” this Sunday, August 28th. The physical CD will be available at all major retail stores on August 29th. It appears that Lil Wayne is experimenting with his creative process, his music has been sounding different ever since he’s been sober. This beat is definitely a different sound from Swizz Beatz signature sound.

A unfinished joint from Young Jeezy & Lil Wayne called Ballin’ produced by Lex Luger. It’s a Weezy verse and a Jeezy Hook. These Lex Luger beats are all starting to sound the same to me, this guys has his own personal brand of Hip Hop right now and everyone wants a piece of the 19 year producer’s sound.

Here it is, something new from Lil Wayne called “If I Die Today” and he brings along Rick Ross to trade bars with, it’s from his upcoming album The Carter IV. It’s not confirmed but this beat sounds like a Lex Luger joint.

Oh man super super late pass on this one, what am I like 5 days late on this “All Of The Lights” remix? I was holding off from posting it because this is not the full version, this one only has verses from Lil Wayne, Big Sean & Drake but the complete version is supposed to have more featured on it, namely Kanye West himself. The full version never showed up and I just forgot I didn’t post it.

Anyways here it is now, so leave your thoughts especially on that Drake verse. Did it sound like that type of flow was a bit of a stretch for him?

Busta Rhymes who’s been killing allot of beats lately adds a verse Lil Wayne’s “Bill Gates” joint. You might have caught it on DJ Kay Slay’s new mixtape, and now you have the tag less version.

Just when I thought I’d had it with this Wiz Khalufa record, here comes Lil Wayne to blow some new life into the beat. It’s not a diss at least not on a rap level but on some Superbowl shit, Weezy is backing the Green Bay Packers and talking that shit about the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Here’s the first single from Travis’ Give The Drummer Some album, out March 15th. It’s called “Can A Drummer Get Some?” featuring Swizz Beatz, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross & Game.

In his Rolling Stone cover story, Wayne talks about the lack of sex being one of the hardest parts about his 8 month bid. He says it’s not the length of the time that was difficult but it was the fact that the option wasn’t there. He claims he was celibate before for eight months, because he was on tour.

“I dropped my nuts and took it,” he said, referring to his eight-month prison sentence.

Can I get a order of Pause with a side of No Homo for that “I dropped my nuts and took it” line? Clearly one of the most nervous lines I’ve ever come across from a rapper.

No radio. No commissary. Basically you’re in there 23 hours a day.” The only upside was he had a window where he could watch cars go by. “I used to sit at that motherfucker all day,” he says.
