K’naan teams up with Nas for a new single called Nothing To Lose from K’naan’s upcoming More Beautiful Than Silence EP due out January 24.

Here’s the Mobb Deep and Nas collaboration called “Get It Forever” off the Black Cocaine EP dropping on Black Friday.

This is the new single from Amy’s album Lioness: Hidden Treasures dropping Dec 6th. The track was recorded in 2008. Production by Salaam Remi. It’s called “Like Smoke” and features Nas.

Nas and Rick Ross team up to record a track for the upcoming movie Tower Heist. Produced by Salaam Remi.

“Dawg, I was naming my album Life Is Good because of how happy I am about how happy things have turned out,” Nas answered. “Sometimes I may wake up and wish my kids were living with me. That’s the only thing, you know what I mean? Our loved ones that are not around no more, like my mom. That’s the only thing. But other than that, everything is great, even when I’m alone. Even when there’s no one around.”

Along with the massive story on Nas—which includes a story on the Queens rapper reflecting on the 20 year, 15 year, 10 year and 5 year anniversary of his respective milestone releases, “Live at the Barbeque”, It Was Written, Stillmatic and Hip-Hop Is Dead.

Here’s unreleased joint from Nas called “More Than I Can Say” featuring Keyshia Cole, liberated by A&R veteran Geno Sims. It was originally recorded during the sessions for Diddy’s Press Play.

Says Geno:

Well as you know I worked with a wide range of talent. One cool dude I got to kick it with was my man Nas. Nas is a talented, funny, cool individual. Actually his brother Jungle, to me is one of the funniest dudes I ever met. Don’t believe me check the N.O.R.E. skits. I must credit Jungle though, he was a visionary with A&R talent as well. This song was done in 2005 while I was recording “Press Play”. This beat was one out of many sitting around. I felt this beat was Hip-Hop and to me I pictured Nas flowing to this beat, it was NYC, Queens, and most of all had substance. Well as we know the track never made the album, however the countless studio sessions with Nas and Keyshia were priceless. They were never in the studio at the sametime. Yummy Bingham originally wrote and referenced the hook. I wish this song made it to Press Play, but it never did, I thought the world could use some blessings from Godson.

Two veterans Common and Nas join forces for a new single called “Ghetto Dreams” from Common’s The Dreamer, The Believer drops in November. This is a epic look, this doesn’t happen as much should in Hip Hop but then again it wouldn’t be epic if it did.

Up and coming singer CJ Hilton with a new song called “So Fresh” with a verse from one of the greatest rappers ever Nas.

On today’s installment of Swizz Beatz’ Monster Mondays (Monster Tuesdays in my case) music series, Swizz releases a version of his song from One Man Band Man with Nas spittin.

“The record was originally for Nas,” he explained. “I got Nas’ vocals already. But I can’t do Nas, and his energy is not right on there. It would be dead weight. No disrespect, but it can’t be dead weight if I can’t make it feel like reality. I need the sh– crazy. I need to shoot a video! It’s gotta be another ‘It’s Me B—hes,’ but bigger. I could easily pull a Nas card and have people be like, ‘Nas is spazzing on the verse.’ But it has to be a movie. I got it. It just gotta make sense. I can get Nas, [Jay-Z] and [Jadakiss] on that. I can do that. It’s light work, but it’s gotta make sense.”

New joint from Ron Artest called “Who Are You” featuring Nas & Xin Xin, it’s the first leak from the upcoming Ron Artest & DJ Felli Fell mixtape titled Ball’n. The song doesn’t have Ron Artest rapping, but Nas gives us 2 verses.

Remember back in 2002 Nas had dropped Lost Tapes? It was big deal back then, and now the sequel is ready to be released, and Def Jam is apparently willing to put it out, but they’re supposedly saying that it won’t count on his deal and that they won’t give him any money, although in the e-mail below addressed to Def Jam’s top execs from Nas, they seemed to have offered him $200k for it. They also allegedly still want all of the benefits that come from releasing a Nas album.

Beefing with record labels is so 15 years ago. @ this point I just need you all to be very clear where I stand and how I feel about “my label.” I could go on twitter or hot 97 tomorrow and get 100,000 protesters @ your building but I choose to walk my own path my own way because since day one I have been my own man. I did business with Tommy Mottola and Donnie Einer, two of the most psycho dudes this business ever created. I worked well with them for one major reason……. they believed in me. The didn’t give a fuck about what any radio station or magazine said….those dudes had me.

Lost Tapes is a movement and a very important set up piece for my career as it stands. I started this over 5 years ago @ Columbia and nobody knew what it was or what it did but the label put it out as an LP and the fans went crazy for it and I single handlely built a new brand of rap albums. It’s smart and after 5 years it’s still a head of the game. This feels great and you not feeling what I’m feeling is disturbing. Don’t get in the way of my creativity. We are aligned with the stars here, this is a movement. There is a thing called KARMA that comes to haunt you when you tamper with the aligning stars. WE ARE GIVING THE PEOPLE EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT. Stop throwing dog shit on a MAGICAL moment.

You don’t get another Nas recording that doesn’t count against my deal….PERIOD! Keep your bullshit $200,000.00 fund. Open the REAL budget. This is a New York pioneers ALBUM, there ain’t many of us. I am ready to drop in the 4th quarter. You don’t even have shit coming out! Stop being your own worst enemy. Let’s get money!

Do we care enough to make a fuss about the label not releasing Lost Tapes 2? Personally I’m for anything that has to do with sticking it to the labels and I wouldn’t mind hearing sequel to something I used to play the hell out of.

What do you like about hip-hop today?
M.I.A.: I think Kanye is trying to take it into a new realm and he’s sort of putting the artistry back into it and sort of taking it in that direction. I was having a conversation about Jay-Z and Nas and how it was really crazy how they were having this Nas vs. Jay-Z moment 10 years ago and no one really talks about it now.

M.I.A.: Jay became the biggest representation of rap music who’s still alive, started dating Beyoncé—everything was so much bigger and better with Jay-Z. I hope people don’t think that that wins. The fact that Nas didn’t become all this sort of stuff changes people’s perception about the music and the work he achieved in his lifetime. I don’t wanna say Jay-Z sold out, but I just feel like we have to wait another 10 years to see what happens. Jay-Z’s ambition was to become like Frank Sinatra, a household name all over the planet, and own a casino in Vegas and stuff like that. And I think Nas was really sticking to knowledge. I still think the biggest point about hip-hop is in there somewhere, what happens to those two artists.

What do you think of the paths both Nas and Jay-Z took after the beef?

Levi’s is putting together a project with Nas and 12 other major acts from the the Genres of pop, rock, soul and rap to record classic hits from the past for their “Levi’s Pioneer Sessions” campaign. All the track will be available on the Levi’s website.

The Punchbowl Blog caught up with Nas at the Orange Rock Corps concert over in the U.K. and asked him about his new album with Damien Marley and his next solo project. When the interviewer asks him about his FAILure to submit a verse for ?Verbal Intercourse 2?, he says that this is the first he?s hearing of it. When she specifically asks him about ?Empire State of Mind?, he tells her to move on to the next question. Nevertheless, he goes on to say that Only Bult 4 Cuban Linx 2 and Blueprint 3 are two of his favorite albums right now and cites both as sources of inspiration. He also comments briefly on Kanye at the VMAs, Kelis and being offered the Def Jam presidency. Finally, he mentions Drake, Lil Wayne and Asher Roth as ?new? artists that he respects.

It would have been great to hear him on Blueprint 3.

Damn all that when is that sextape coming of Kelis getting banged by some no name rapper supposedly before she Married Nas. Hip hop artist Kelis Rogers is pregnant with her first child. An insider tells US Weekly magazine that the 29-year-old and her husband, rapper Nas, are “so excited” to become parents. “It’s all they are talking about. She is carrying hip-hop royalty!” the source said. “They are so excited.”

Kelis and Nas were married in January 2005. Kelis is best known for her 2003 hit single ‘Milkshake.’ Nas, whose real name is Nasir Jones, is best known for his 2006 album ‘Hip Hop is Dead.’
