Giving the history between Eminem & Royce Da 5’9″, the fact that they now have a joint EP dropping in June isn’t surprising if anything it’s long overdue. Though I must say after the beef Em, D12 and Royce went through a few years ago, I didn’t think it would all come together like this. That’s Hip Hop for you.

Says Em about the project:

“Royce and I started hanging out again and inevitably that led us back into the studio. At first we were just seeing where it went without any real goal in mind, but the songs started to come together crazy, so here we are.”

Says Royce:

“I’m excited to see this project come to fruition considering the long lapse in time between when we worked before and now. We had a blast doing it and we just hope everyone enjoys it while we’re working on the ‘Monster’ that will be the Slaughterhouse album. #TeamShady”

The EP is set for a June 14th release and will feature production from DJ Khalil, Havoc, Mr. Porter, Bangladesh and others.

Royce Da 5’9″ just leaked the first single for his fifth LP, Success Is Certain, dropping independently on July 26th via Gracie Productions. The joint is called “Writer’s Block” and features his long time collaborator Eminem, check it out.

Here’s a new joint from 1/2 of Slaughterhouse Joell Ortiz & Royce Da 5’9 titled “Finish What You Start” Joell’s Free Agent LP which is already on sale at Amazon (three months early); not sure how that happened. The physical copy will be available on February 22nd!
